Yesterday we took a drive a few miles North of our home, and we stopped at Lighthouse Point. It’s a beautiful spot, and a great place for people (and boat) watching…and the little lighthouse is still in operation.
The little “house” you see on the water in the picture is really a dredge. They use it to keep the inlet open so all the fishing boats can come and go.
“Snowbird” Dick shares information with our friend Dorothy |
While we were admiring the view, we began to visit with a local “snowbird”…Dick from Buffalo, NY. He shared some information that was news to me. He told us the little lighthouse there is the brightest one in the world, and can be seen 28 nautical miles out at sea! (Sounds like the little lighthouse that could!)
A beautiful spot, and a great story.
