OK…I admit it. I hate to shop. So when we decided to take the plunge and purchase a granite countertop and bar for our kitchen, I knew it would take more than a few minutes (and a few miles) to track down that perfect slab…the one that would remind me of the sandy beaches near our condo.
We decided to start the day with a hearty breakfast to get us going, so we checked out another diner in our area, Andrews Diner. Like most diners, it caters to the “locals”, and locals have kept this tiny place in business for years.
I’m guessing these bar stools have been there since the ’60’s… And so have the waitresses! |
The food was good…not great. But it was a nice surprise when the waitress asked if I wanted homemade sausage gravy on my potatoes…for free! And the sausage gravy was probably the most tasty part of the breakfast. And the coffee was really good, too. (Yes…I know it wasn’t a healthy breakfast…but we were preparing ourselves for the crazy traffic and the dreaded shopping yet to come. We needed sustenance!)
This should hold us for a few hours…or days?? |
