Outback Bowl – Tampa, Florida

• We’ve had a GREAT time meeting awesome people.  Hawk fans…LSU Fans, and Tampa “Locals”.
• The food has been delicious…even the hot dog at the game!
• Our accommodations at the Howard Johnson hotel were more than adequate.  (Great towels, friendly staff and a clean, quiet room.  We would absolutely stay here again if we’re back in this area.)
• We’ve had SAFE travel on some really treacherous roads (Our hearts go out to the family of the couple from Wilton who lost their lives in an accident on I-75 driving from Iowa to the bowl game…)
• The Hawkeyes were tough competitors who represented Iowa in a positive way with their effort, their sportsmanship and, of course, their “never give up” attitude.  We are proud to wear our black and gold…Win or Lose.

By the way…my record continues.  ALL seats were open around us  until two TALL GIANTS came in.  And GUESS WHO they sat in front of?? And guess what else?  They STOOD UP the ENTIRE GAME.  (So we did too, of course.)

Sky divers were supposed to fly in to entertain us…but due to the weather they WALKED in and sat with us!  We had a great time talking about their choice of professions.  Can you imagine doing more than 5,000 jumps?  I certainly can’t!

The Hawkeyes never gave up…

And they left the field UNITED.

It’s GREAT to be a HAWKEYE.
