Sometimes I like to spend hours puttering around in my kitchen. But sometimes I don’t feel like creating a dish with tons of ingredients and enough preparation steps to resemble the assembly of a piece of IKEA furniture! Sometimes I want SIMPLE. And that brings me to the amazing recipes to be found in the Four Ingredient Cookbook…including this Four Ingredient Apple Cream Pie.
Only four ingredients? Yes…if you don’t count the crust…and I didn’t even include the crust in the photo! But what would a pie be without crust anyway?
But those of you who know me well know that I just HAVE to gild the lily too…so I’ve added a few extra pinches of this and that to make this pie my very own creation.
And I must say I am a walking billboard for my local Fort Lauderdale Aldi Grocery Store. As I began to set out the ingredients for this pie I realized that every single ingredient came from Aldi…including the Bake House Creations Pie Crust I eventually used.
And no…I am not a paid spokesperson for Aldi…but I SHOULD be! (I hope they’re reading this!)
So here goes. Start the countdown. And this old Snowbird will be out of the kitchen and headed to the pool before you can say APPLE CREAM PIE!
I peeled and diced the apples, and I mixed ALL the ingredients together. I am not joking when I said this Apple Cream Pie took five minutes to stir together.
I have a feeling Peepaw will be happy with dinner tonight. At least the dessert part anyway.
Now…that swimming pool is calling my name…
