Before we close the books on our 2016 holiday season and move on to our Outback Bowl road trip…Please allow me to re-live a baking adventure from our Christmas day 2015. I still have to laugh when I remember these oven baking results with grandgirl “Little Sis”. It just goes to show…not every Christmas gift is all it’s cracked up to be!
(I hope your 2016 holiday season was filled with family, food, and FUN!)
Cooking is my passion…but that passion does NOT translate to a Lalaloopsy Baking Oven!
Little Sis got one of these “toys” for Christmas, and she couldn’t wait to bake something. So on Christmas night after all the company had gone home, I “took one for the team” and we got ready to “bake.”
First…the cake. We turned on the oven to heat…FOR TWENTY MINUTES.
She stirred up the batter…and that only took two minutes. Now…eighteen minutes more to wait. (That is an ETERNITY to a five year old.)
So we shoved the pan into the slot…
We put the sticky side DOWN on the plate to hide it…and then it was time for FROSTING…
There seemed to be a shortage of frosting. (But maybe the girls ate more than they spread on their cake.)
Those flaming candles may have helped to finish baking the cake!
So…this was the tiny taste of trouble we finally ended up with.
And it took LESS THAN ONE MINUTE to eat!
Please…pass me that bottle of wine…
