As our grands get older it’s becoming more and more difficult to get all of them together. Between baseball, soccer, softball and more mini camps than you can shake a stick at…they are busy bees all summer.
We had to squeeze in “Cousin Togetherness Time” wherever and whenever we could. So one overnight was all about Girl Power!
And these four cousins found plenty to talk about!
Another overnight was shared with these two guys…
And much time was spent together at baseball games all over the place.
But FINALLY…it was pure Meemaw Joy when their paths all finally crossed…even if it was only for one day during GrandCamp 2018. And those seven kids wasted no time reconnecting. That’s the great thing about these grands. They are so close in age and they have so much in common they all catch up in a hurry.
One of their interests?? Of course it’s electronics!
LOL! They’re all in the same room…but are they really??
I’m happy to say it wasn’t too long before they headed outside on a VERY hot day for…what else? A game of baseball!
Of course they were starving when they came back inside. And that led to a chorus of “When is LUNCH?”
And lunch for those Grands usually means one thing they can all agree on. Mac and Cheese! But not from that familiar blue box. They want my homemade Meemaw’s Multiple Cheese Mac and Cheese! (I think on this GrandCamp day I used FIVE kinds of cheese…and no ham. Just LOTS of cheese!)
I’m glad there always seems to be a volunteer to help me whip up a batch. And as “Middle Bro” poured the milk into that COLD pan it was time for a serious Meemaw Lesson…ALWAYS turn the handles of saucepans toward the BACK of the stove!
My little chef helped to whip up a yummy batch!
Mealtime with the Grands was a great time to repeat another Meemaw Lesson…to Eat a Rainbow Every Day! (I always take a minute to discuss all the colors of the fruits and veggies we can eat to make sure we’re eating a variety of foods.)
After an afternoon of fun and games it was time to wind down and head out to a local restaurant before we split those cousins up until next time.
The wait for a table was filled with some artistic expressions by all the grands.
I must say the kids were incredibly well behaved…even when I gave them permission to pose for a “silly” photo.
And once we were seated, they used the waiting time to share their favorite smartphone tips and tricks.
It warms my heart to see these precious kids together…all seven Grands around one table.
All too soon that dinner was over and it was time to go. But the memories of that “All Together” GrandCamp Day 2018 will last forever.
And someone else had to wash those dishes!

Thanks Rod! Yes…We treasure EVERY MOMENT when we can get all seven together in one place. It’s a rare occurrence for sure! (We’re hoping for one more chance this summer…but another Road Trip involved for THAT one. 🙂 Stay tuned…and thanks for your comment!
