So on Sunday, after the girls swim meet, we were joined by that THIRD Grandma and Grandpa (a.k.a. Nana and Papa) and Aunt Maggie and Uncle Austin and Cousins Mackenzie and Maddie for a Mother’s Day Dinner to remember!
The only thing I was told was that I was to DO NOTHING that evening. And for once I was glad to oblige. So I poured a glass of wine and watched as all the men took over and created a BEAUTIFUL evening for ALL of us who have the honor of being called MOM.
It all started with our son Nick presenting me with flowers…and then ordering me out of the kitchen!
Here is the evening as it unfolded…in photos…all taken while juggling a wine glass in my OTHER hand. (It’s a skill I have mastered…with much practice.)

My Very Own Present! |
It was a wonderful night…spent with people we love…A Mother’s Day to remember.
And as I watched Nick preparing this meal in his kitchen, I realized he had just given me much more than a delicious meal. He had shown me that my love of cooking and entertaining, (the skills I learned from MY mother…God BLESS her) have already been passed down through me to HIM…and that HIS love of cooking is already being shared with HIS children…
And THAT was the BEST Mother’s Day Gift he could EVER give me.
