Conversations with folks at local watering holes have led us to some great adventures. But none better than a visit with a nice woman several years ago in Fort Lauderdale.
You see, Wine Wednesday is “Date Night” for Peepaw and me. We simply walk out our back door and across this beautiful drawbridge.
And what’s not to love about the view on the other side of that bridge…where the sunset views can be spectacular.
THIS is one of our favorite local Happy Hour spots called Shooters.
The view from our favorite stools in that open air bar are sure hard to beat.
So if you find yourself in our snowbird neighborhood be sure to check it out. Their Wine Wednesdays and their Calamari are a fantastic combo!

Enough Already! What About Conversations?
OK. Back to that momentous bar stool conversation from years ago.
That night we found ourselves seated next to a smiling woman at the bar, so of course I struck up a conversation, (After all, my childhood nickname WAS “Chatty Patty.”)
Well…one topic led to another, and when the woman learned that I write about the places we go and the people we meet she told me of a place we just HAD to visit. And as she described the quaint village and the picturesque Main Street she painted a mental picture of a place I really wanted to visit. So I whipped out my phone and made a note. Just four little words.
Little Falls New York
Nothing else. No woman’s name or phone number. And the photographer in me didn’t even snap a photo of her. Just those four words.
Now…fast forward to this past summer.
After being in quarantine for so long, Peepaw and I were more than ready to stretch our wings and our legs and GO SOMEWHERE. We’ve made many trips all over the western United States, so I suggested we head East this time. And as we discussed our plans Peepaw threw out the suggestion to head to one of his Bucket List spots…The Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown New York. (Read about that adventure HERE.)
Just mentioning the state of New York jogged my foggy old memory. I faintly remembered that long ago conversation with the friendly woman seated next to me at Shooters. So I grabbed my phone and scrolled back through the many notes I’ve taken in the past few years. And there it was. Those four words. Little Falls New York. Nothing else. Just four words.
Now let’s just say those four words led us to one of our best adventures ever.
So please stay tuned Dear Readers.
Just stay tuned…
