Hello My Dear Meemaw Eats Blog Readers!
I’m in the process of arranging an update to the “guts” of my blog. (That’s MY technical term for it.) Because of that step my posts have been (and will continue to be) somewhat sporadic until that upgrade has been completed. In the meantime, be sure to follow me on my Meemaw Eats Facebook page as well as on Instagram where I’ll still be active. (I may be an old Meemaw…but I’m pretty well connected on social media in spite of my age!)
Thanks so much for your understanding and your support as this old Meemaw leaps even further into this oh-so-technical world. It’s a far cry from the wooden, crank telephone I grew up with! (Come to think about it, I think I’ll tell you all about our “party line” telephone service some day.)
And as a “Thank You For Your Continued Support” please check out this recipe I shared way back in 2015. It is truly the best chocolate chip cookie recipe I have ever tasted!
My Texas friend Joyce made a huge batch of these cookies when I was a guest at a conference in Dallas. And everyone who tasted these beauties was smitten with chocolate shivers of joy! I’m guessing you’ll love them as much as I do.
Now head to your kitchen, and bake up a batch of these beauties. And thanks for waiting patiently for more of my recipes and stories, including a MAGICAL outdoor dinner…in a vineyard! I can’t wait share my photos and to tell you all about it.

Cream the Crisco and the brown sugar until like and fluffy. Add the milk, vanilla and eggs and mix well. Mix the flour and the baking soda together and add to the wet ingredients. Fold in the chocolate chips. Chill the dough (if you have time) and then bake at 375 Degrees for 11 to 13 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to firm up on the cookie sheet for several minutes.
