If a restaurant has the audacity to call itself MOM’S PLACE…It had better be GOOD…especially considering the food MY Mom cooked. And this place was good.
From the friendly greeting at the door, to our waitress who referred to all her customers as Honey and Baby Doll. This place is a blast from the past.
Breakfast was served quickly and efficiently, and our coffee cups were never empty. EVER.
And what fun to read an awesome article about our amazing quarterback, Jake Rudock, as we devoured our food. We felt right at home. Except it was 65 degrees outside…and the temp in Iowa City was a balmy -4 at that time.
We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast, and then it was off for a day at Ybor City…(pronounced EEE-Bore). It’s an awesome place, and I was totally surprised by the surroundings. I felt like we’d been plunked down in the middle of New Orleans…except for the THOUSANDS of Hawk Fans crowding the streets. (I’ll share lots of pictures and Hawkeye stories in another blog post…)
Like I said…we feel right at home!
