The smell of boiled cabbage can be enough to make anyone swear they hate that vegetable. I understand that feeling. But don’t blame the cabbage. Blame your cooking method!
The BEST way to cook this veggie is to ROAST it. And I guarantee you will change your outlook about that much maligned side dish.
I have developed a surefire recipe that I hope you’ll try. It’s so simple and it’s delicious too. (And if you happen to be on a low carb diet, this dish will be a welcome addition to your menu planning.)
ROASTED CABBAGE WITH FENNEL
Preheat Oven to 400 Degrees.
Coat a cookie sheet with Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Slice a head of cabbage into one inch slices, leaving the core intact to hold the circles together. Drizzle olive oil, salt and pepper on each slice-both sides. Then sprinkle a small amount of fennel seeds over the slices.
Roast in a 400 degree oven for 40-45 minutes or until cooked through and starting to brown.
The results are absolutely delicious. And there will be NO stinky smell in your kitchen when you use my roasting method!

This looks so delicious I am looking for new veggie recipes and this looks like a keeper. I will definitely be trying this Sunday to go with my kielbasa.
Thanks so much Darrellyn! I hope you’ll like it as much as I do! And check my website tomorrow for a carrot side dish with an unexpected (but delicious) twist!
XOXO
