Last night was our final night in Iowa…until Springtime!
We’re heading to Indy for Christmas, Then off the Pasadena for a whirlwind ROSE BOWL trip before we head South for a LONG, LONG time. And you can bet I’ll keep you all in the loop with ALL of our comings and goings!
So last night our DEAR “Sunday Friends” treated me (and my Hubby) to dinner…a dinner to celebrate my enrollment in…Medicare! (Where have the years gone!)
We met our “Three Musketeers” at Cheddar’s. It’s a family-friendly chain that serves comfort food and cocktails with a Texas twist. And it turned out to be the PERFECT place to enjoy time together.
So when we arrived, we were greeted with a Tower of Onion Rings to start off our meal. (It reminded me of an onion Christmas Tree!)
They were DELICIOUS!
Then I enjoyed a salad…and, along with the fresh greens and tomatoes, the restaurant serves their trademark warm croissant dripping with honey butter! The fresh tomato vinaigrette dressing contained the perfect blend of spices to lead me to my main course…
A bubbling hot Chicken Pot Pie! Comfort food doesn’t get any better than that!
The crust was melt-in-your-mouth AWESOME, and the filling was perfectly seasoned…but I must admit I did have to search for chunks of chicken in my pie. (They were rather scarce.)
The restaurant sports a decor that makes it the PERFECT place to relax, unwind, and visit with our amazing friends…one last time before we leave for our LONG winter trip. (We miss them already!)
I love the brick accents…
As you can see…we outlasted ALL the other diners last night.
We usually do,..No matter WHERE the five of us end up together!
The fish tank lends another layer of soothing ambiance to the space…
So thanks again to our dear friends for my birthday dinner…and for ALL the special things they do to fill our lives with positive vibes and Sunday night FUN when we’re in Iowa.
And Sunday nights at our winter home can NEVER be the same.
Never.
