I found this recipe in an old cookbook and I recognized the baker’s name as a friend of my mother. My mom would be 100 years old if she were alive today, and I still miss her so much. She truly was the BEST COOK and PARTY PLANNER I’ve ever known. So I knew this recipe would be a good one since any friend of Mom’s just HAD to be a good cook too. (And I was right…this cake is awesome.) There are several steps in the mixing and baking directions, so be sure to read through the recipe several times before you begin so you’ll be sure of the preparation steps. ENJOY!

Now pour the above boiling mixture over the dry ingredients in mixing bowl. Then add:
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 C. buttermilk.
Beat all ingredients together with a spoon and pour onto a greased and floured large cookie sheet pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until toothpick poked into center of cake comes out clean. (Don’t over bake.)
