You’ve heard me say it before…I’m not a fan of franchise restaurants. But on on the final stretch of our trek home to Iowa we stopped in Lebanon, Indiana for breakfast at the local Denney’s.
When we walked into the nearly empty restaurant, the hostess was leaning on the counter talking to a “local”. She completely ignored us until a waitress yelled “We’ll be right with you.” Then the hostess grudgingly sauntered over to seat us.
Long story short…
The waitress brought me someone else’s breakfast.
There was a hair on the table.
Our coffee cups stayed empty.
And our breakfast?
I ordered the only thing on the menu that included spinach…but I’m not sure three leaves of spinach are considered a serving, even in elementary school. Especially if those three leaves are swimming in (you guessed it)…GREASE!
Let’s just say the first thing I did when we got back in the car was to search for a Mom and Pop restaurant we can try next time we pass through Lebanon.
Good Bye Denney’s…Hello ANYBODY ELSE.
