When we’re entertaining friends…I’m in my Happy Place. And there is no better combination than friends and food.
This week has been a whirlwind of good food and good friends, so rather than tell you all about it, let me share some photos from the past week!
I love to keep things simple when it comes to appetizers. And a charcuterie board is a communal way to stay seated and be a guest at my own party!
Any combination works…Just arrange the items on a wooden board, pour a drink, and join in the conversation.
These bacon wrapped crackers are a delicious and easy choice for a simple appetizer. You can find the recipe HERE.
And when your guests bring a beautiful appetizer like this to share…YUM! And THANKS!
And dinner that night? A grilled pork loin studded with fresh garlic and sage…
And potato gratin…with fresh thyme and parsley.
And our dinner guest Dawn brought a cast iron skillet filled with delicious roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon…and she promised to share the recipe with me. (And I promise to share it with all of you!)
And some days…for lunch…a bowl of clam chowder is exactly what the doctor ordered.
And when Happy Hour rolled around…our guests made sure our throats weren’t parched. (Thank you dear Iowa friends!)
Got a hankering for something sweet?
This Four Ingredient Apple Pie might fill the bill. Especially if it’s topped with a big scoop of French Vanilla ice cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar.
So no matter who knocks on our door, it won’t be long before you’ll find me in the kitchen…preparing food to share with friends.
My mom taught me long ago that the best conversations happen around a food-filled table, and I love to watch our guests begin to relax and enjoy our hospitality…no matter when they stop by.
It’s been a wonderful week for me…and I hope our guests have enjoyed it too!

Sounds like an enjoyable time with all. Carnivor is my new go to wine. Until Trader Joes get to our area.
