On our recent Rose Bowl Trip there was one bucket list item we wanted to cross off: To eat an In-N-Out Burger. And as we made our way across the desert from Las Vegas to Pasadena, our sons were determined to experience this cultural phenomenon as soon as we kit the state line.
It was 10:30 in the morning. The place had just opened. and there was already a line at the counter. And as I looked around, I noticed was how clean the store was…And how pristine (and old-fashioned) the worker’s uniforms were.
The menu is very small. Not many choices. And that is a good thing, my friends!
I felt like we had stepped back into the 1950’s. And it felt good.
And then our food was ready. And after one bite, I could totally understand and appreciate the cult following this burger chain has created.
A simple, perfectly cooked burger. With a “special sauce” I’ll be working to duplicate. (Stay tuned.)
And even though I’m not much of a chocolate lover…this shake was absolutely delectable.
And those fries? I knew from the first bite that these were FRESH potatoes…hand cut and fried just moments before I tasted them. There is no substitute for the real thing. Fresh IS best.
And when I reached the bottom of my French fry “boat”…(And you can be sure I reached the bottom) I saw that I had been right all along…
The success of this burger chain proves, once again, that less IS more.
