It will be Back To School time before you know it.
The new catalog will soon be mailed from Kirkwood Community College, and I’ve agreed to teach four cooking classes this Fall.
So mark your calendars and sign up early since I do limit the size of my classes. And remember…my classes are not a typical “watch the teacher” class format. We will work together to prepare a number of dishes during class, then we all sit down and eat together as part of the class. There is plenty of time for discussion and questions, and it’s like getting cooking tips and dinner rolled into one evening! Details can be found on the Kirkwood website and in their Fall semester catalog. Call Kirkwood at 319 398-1022 to sign up, or to request a catalog.
NOTE: All four classes will be taught at Regina High School in Iowa City.
Sep. 16th USING FRESH HERBS IN COOKING
I’ll bring many herbs from my herb garden to taste and to use in the dishes we will use in preparing
our meal. (And I may even bring some herbs for you to plant in your own garden.)
Oct. 7th EASY DISHES AND TIPS FOR HOLIDAY MEALS
I’ll share recipes for some easy dishes that are special enough for company…and I’ll provide some tips for holiday entertaining as well.
Oct. 14th COOKING WITH KIDS (Ages 4-8)
The children in my classes learn what it means to “Eat a Rainbow” every day…and they’ll even learn how to set the table and help to serve the dishes we prepare together.
Oct. 21st SOUPer EASY SOUPS
I’ll choose several soups to prepare during class, and we’ll sit down together to enjoy a “comfort foods” meal together.
So JOIN ME in the kitchen…My favorite room in the house!!!
