Lolo quickly showed off her baking skills as we kicked off GrandCamp 2018. She was busy in our kitchen almost before she finished unpacking her suitcase. It wasn’t long before the intoxicating smell of baking chocolate was wafting through the house. She couldn’t wait to share her chocolate cookie recipe with her old Meemaw, and I was thrilled to see how her kitchen skills have grown!
I soon realized I was not a participant in her baking project. I was only an observer. And that was just fine with me! It warms my heart to see how my cooking lessons have been taken to heart by this sweet girl.
I did find one opportunity for a Meemaw’s Tip teaching moment. Please notice the damp cloth I asked her to place under her mixing bowl. That cloth kept the bowl from spinning and moving as she used the electric mixer. (Try it! It really works!!)
This young lady made short work of whipping up that batch of cookies, and it was a joy to watch her scoot around my kitchen without wasting a step!
Her cookies were absolutely delicious, and they didn’t last long at our house.
Her two sisters were more than happy to sample her successful baking project. And as you will soon see, those chocolate cookies were the first of MANY recipes we shared in my kitchen.
Yes…the kitchen is my Happy Place. And my happiness is always multiplied when I share my kitchen with our grandkids!
Now it’s your turn to whip up a batch of Lolo’s Chocolate Cookies. And if you have someone to help you make them…do it! That Together Time is PRICELESS!
