After our “Garden of Eden” adventures in the Willamette Valley, we took that same scenic drive back to McMinnville. And after a short rest at our cottage we headed to Rick and Candy’s home for a short visit before we headed out for a drive to “get the lay of the land” as my dear old dad used to say. And when we arrived at our friends’ home we realized we didn’t know Rick nearly as well as we had thought. This guy is literally a kid in a candy store…a store full of PEZ!!!
Rick and Candy have a lovely home…and we were immediately greeted by the REAL boss of that house…the boss named Sally.
Sally lost no time getting to know both Peepaw and me!
After getting acquainted with our new four-legged friend I asked Rick if I could use their WiFi to work on an upcoming blog post so Rick took me into his office to get the pass code. And that’s when his collection nearly jumped off of every wall at me!
Peepaw and I were both shocked to learn that Rick has been a collector of Everything Pez for almost thirty years!
I have NEVER seen so much candy in one place in my life!
And it’s not just candy. Would you like a Pez lunchbox? Or how about a Pez watch? Or maybe an action figure?
Or how about some cereal? Free candy and dispenser inside!
I couldn’t help but wonder how that twenty year old cereal would taste…But I certainly wouldn’t be the one to tear open a box!
I even found famous artist’s artwork printed on Pez dispensers!
It is an amazing collection, to be sure.
Mayor Rick even has Pez dispensers from other countries! I have never seen a collection of ANYTHING that is as extensive as this one.
That amazing collection was our first surprise on that Sunday afternoon in McMinnville…but the surprises were not over yet.
Our next surprise? We found it…in a trailer park!
