Ideas for my blog posts come to me in many different ways. In fact I was headed in a totally different direction until I saw a note on my wall calendar proclaiming today as National Maritime Day.
That special designation made me remember my years as a cruise specialist. And I’ll make a point in some other blog posts to share photos and stories of my many ocean adventures on the high seas. But my first thought on this National Maritime Day was the awesome time I cooked dinner in the galley of a catamaran…right outside our Florida condo!
Yes…cooking on a boat has always been on my Bucket List. And our good friends Norm and Nancy were kind enough to turn me loose in their galley on a gorgeous Winter evening in Fort Lauderdale.
Please excuse the messy counter…but I was in oceanic heaven in that tiny space that night since barefoot cooking is my favorite way to cook. The only better way is in my PJ’s…but I wasn’t about to put Norm and Nancy through THAT. (I might have been asked to walk the plank!)

And Happy Maritime Day to ALL of you, wherever you are!
