Tonight we spent a wonderful evening in the kitchen on the farm where I grew up.
My brother, Tom, and his wife, Barbara, invited us to come for dinner. And I asked Barb if we could cook the meal together, because spending time in the kitchen is one of my favorite ways to visit!
So as the sun began to set, Barb and I began our dinner preparations. And we had plenty of time to catch up on family news as we chopped and stirred and tasted and mixed.
How lucky we are to have these two (and their “kids”? in our lives…
Our dinner came together, with some tasty, farm-fresh ingredients.
Main Course:
Stuffed Pork Chops
Potato Gratin
Fresh Green Beans
Focaccia Bread
Our meal was made with fresh ingredients…and seasoned with MUCH love!
It was a feast for the stomach…and the eyes!
And for dessert?
An Apple, Blueberry and Red Raspberry Crostata…Ala Baker Barb!
Our dessert was served with a BIG dollop of vanilla ice cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon-sugar…and washed down with a cup of fresh-brewed coffee.
What a wonderful meal…and some quality time spent with people we love.
It was a Christmas gift worth more than money can buy…
