When you want to explore the waterways in Fort Lauderdale and you don’t want to spend an arm and a leg…Consider spending the day on the Water Taxi.
We had GREAT time today…listening to the water taxi crew tell us about all the famous houses along the route. And who cares if the stories they told didn’t always match the previous accounts we’ve heard from other water taxi crews! (in fact…that was the funniest part of the day!)

And we ended our day at Bokampers…playing our own personal version of music trivia with all the old artists from the ’50’s and 60’s from the music they were playing. SUCH FUN! (We really don’t need professional entertainment…We make our OWN fun…wherever we go!!!)
Our bartender Shane (from Ireland) was a great help in making our night special…especially since his Mom is from County Cork–Just like MY Mom’s family! (And a trip to Ireland is on MY bucket list!)
And the sunset was spectacular tonight. It has been a great ending to a FUN week with friends. Now…off to bed to get them to the airport VERY early in the morning for their trip back to Iowa…and to the COLD that still seems to be hanging on!

I totally agree, Tom. I loved “the good old days” when I would simply call the Water Taxi and tell them how many people wanted to ride, and where to pick us up…and they would send whatever size boat we needed…whenever we needed it! It was awesome! Some competition has recently launched that I hope will provide some competition. And I have also heard rumors that some sort of “Boat Uber” service might be in the works…we can only hope that’s true!
