Wine Wednesday has become a weekly tradition at our house. And when we’re not at home we still find ways to make it happen…no matter where we are!
Our visit to Little Falls, New York was no exception. After a VERY busy day of exploring we were more than ready to stay in and enjoy our surroundings at The Inn At Stone Mill.
Luckily we had done our homework (and our shopping) the day before. Research showed me Little Falls was once the Cheese Capital of America. So I asked our new friend Katie (the manager of the Cafe At Stone Mill for advice on where to purchase any local cheeses for us to try. She suggested we make a trip to the Community Co-Op in town. So off we went to check it out.
It was a very short drive to the store, and it ws filled with lots to see.
There were only a few local artisanal cheeses to choose from that day, but we selected three varieties for our Wine Wednesday event.
It was interesting to learn how many Amish and Mennonite cheesemakers are in the area.
We also stopped at the grocery store that Tuesday to pick up some meats and fruits to add to our charcuterie board the next day.
Now…fast forward to Wednesday evening.
I headed down to the kitchen area and I snagged some pretty white plates. then I pulled out the wine glasses and napkins from our traveling wine kit even contains an opener and other wine gadgets. And I must say I was pleased with the results of my efforts.
The beautiful table by the window was the prefect place to enjoy our wine and cheese.
And the sound of the rushing water in the Mohawk River was a soothing backdrop to the music we pulled up on one of our phones.
We soon decided it was time for our other Wednesday ritual.
A few cutthroat card games!
I don’t remember who won that night. But I actually think we BOTH won, since the entire day was filled to the brim with FUN.
Yes, Dear Readers. We may be old…but we’re not dead yet. And we try to make the most of every day we have left.

I think it is really neat that you have this special Wine Wednesday. It keeps you in touch with each other. Making an effort to have it special is the glue that keeps your relationship steady and special. gr. M.
